NCS wins World Oil Award for Best Completion Technology
On Thursday, October 16, NCS Energy Services received the 2014 World Oil Best Completion Technology Award for the NCS Multistage Unlimited Frac-Isolation System. The award was presented at the 13th annual World Oil Awards dinner in Houston, which was attended by approximately 240 people representing a broad range of award finalists in 16 different categories. The awards are sponsored by World Oil Magazine, a leading energy industry publication.
NCS was up against the largest integrated service companies in the oil-and-gas industry, including Halliburton, Schlumberger, Weatherford, and Packers Plus. When NCS was announced as the winner, the presenter read the following statement, which summarizes why the panel of nine industry specialists recognized the Multistage Unlimited system:
“This is the first commercially successful multistage completion system that delivers predictable, verifiable frac spacing and consistent propped volume across lateral sections. For the first time, operators can design and execute field frac networks that maximize stimulated reservoir volume, boost production, increase ultimate recovery, and mitigate the steep decline curves that characterize many unconventional wells.”
The award was accepted by Robert Nipper, chief executive officer, Marty Stromquist, chief operating officer, Don Getzlaf, chief technology officer, and Tim Willems, President, U.S. and international operations. Many other NCS personnel were also in attendance.
Following the dinner, in a note to all NCS employees, Nipper said, “Everyone of you should be extremely proud of having played a significant role in NCS achieving this type of status in our industry. Without the efforts of each of you, this would not have been possible.”
